1. About this policy

This policy explains how Connie’s collects, uses and protects your personal information when you:

  • visit our website, including conniespizzeria.com;
  • subscribe to our emails;
  • contact us;
  • make a booking, place an order or use a delivery service connected with us; or
  • visit one of our restaurants.

It also explains how we use cookies and similar technologies and the rights you have under UK data protection law.

2. Who we are

Connie’s operates through the following companies:

  • The London Style Pizza Company Limited (company number 16732631), whose registered office is at 75–79 Dulwich Village, London, United Kingdom, SE21 7BJ. This company is responsible for Connie’s London.
  • Connie’s (Brighton) Limited (company number 17132694), whose registered office is at 34 Biggin Way, London, England, SE19 3XF. This company is responsible for Connie’s Brighton.

The company responsible for your personal information will usually be the company operating the restaurant you interact with. For website-wide enquiries and marketing, one or both companies may be responsible, depending on the nature of your interaction.

In this policy, “Connie’s”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the relevant company or companies.

If you have a privacy question or want to exercise your rights, email hello@conniespizzeria.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.

3. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number and postal address.
  • Booking details, such as the restaurant, date, time, number of guests, seating requests and any information you choose to provide with a reservation.
  • Order and transaction details, such as items ordered, order value, delivery or collection details and payment status. Payments are normally handled by our payment, ordering or delivery providers. We do not receive your full payment-card details when payment is made through one of those providers.
  • Marketing details, including your email preferences and a record of when and how you subscribed or unsubscribed.
  • Communications, including enquiries, feedback, complaints and other correspondence.
  • Technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed and interactions with the website or our emails.
  • Cookie and advertising identifiers, where you consent to analytics or advertising technologies.
  • Restaurant information, such as dietary, allergy, accessibility or other requirements that you choose to tell us about.
  • CCTV images, where CCTV is in operation at one of our restaurants. Signs at the restaurant will tell you when CCTV is being used.

We collect most information directly from you. We may also receive information from a booking, ordering, payment or delivery provider when you use its service to interact with us.

Please only provide information that is relevant to your visit.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether our interests are necessary and balanced against your rights and reasonable expectations.

5. Marketing

If you subscribe through our website, we use your name and email address to send you news about Connie’s, including restaurant openings, menu updates, events and offers.

We use Mailchimp, a service provided by Intuit, to manage our mailing list and send these emails. Mailchimp processes your information on our behalf and may also collect information about how you interact with our emails, such as whether an email was opened or a link was selected, where permitted by law and your settings.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it. We may keep the minimum information needed to record your opt-out and ensure we do not contact you again by mistake.

6. Bookings, orders and third-party services

Our website may link to services operated by other organisations, including restaurant booking, payment and delivery providers such as Deliveroo. Those organisations may collect personal information directly from you and will explain their own use of it in their privacy notices.

We may receive the information needed to prepare and fulfil your booking or order, provide customer support, process a refund, respond to a complaint or maintain legally required business records.

Our website also links to third-party platforms such as Instagram. If you follow a link to another website or platform, its own privacy and cookie terms apply. We are not responsible for how an independent third party uses information that you provide directly to it.

7. Who we share information with

Where necessary, we may share personal information with:

  • companies that provide website hosting, content management, IT support, email and data-storage services;
  • Mailchimp/Intuit for mailing-list management and email delivery;
  • Meta Platforms where you consent to the use of the Meta Pixel or related advertising technology;
  • booking, ordering, payment and delivery providers;
  • professional advisers, including accountants, insurers and lawyers;
  • law-enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, tax authorities or other public bodies where required or permitted by law; and
  • a buyer, investor or successor if we sell, transfer or reorganise all or part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We require service providers acting on our behalf to protect personal information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

8. International transfers

Some suppliers, including Mailchimp/Intuit, Meta and certain technology providers, may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred to a country that is not recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we use an approved safeguard where required, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

You can contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting and reporting requirements. In deciding how long to retain information, we consider its nature and sensitivity, the risk of harm, the purpose for which it is used and any legal requirements.

As a general guide:

  • mailing-list information is kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or the list is reviewed and the information is no longer needed;
  • a minimal suppression record may be retained after you unsubscribe so we can honour your request;
  • routine enquiries and correspondence are normally kept for up to two years after the matter is closed;
  • booking, order and transaction records may be kept for up to six years where needed for tax, accounting, contractual or legal purposes;
  • technical security logs are kept only for as long as needed to maintain and protect the website; and
  • CCTV footage, where used, is normally retained for no longer than 31 days unless it is required to investigate an incident or for legal proceedings.

We may retain anonymised information that no longer identifies you for statistical and business-planning purposes.

You can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings, although blocking strictly necessary technologies may affect how the website works.

Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, disclosure, access or use. Access is limited to people and suppliers who need the information for a legitimate purpose and are required to keep it secure.

14. Automated decision-making

We do not currently use your personal information to make decisions about you solely by automated means where those decisions have legal or similarly significant effects.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention.
